Chapter 14 - Ange, My Angel
Translator's Note:
Hello, I hope you've all been doing well.
Here you go, and I wish you a good read.
Fated Mate (7)
Starting from the next day, a strange new routine began.
In the house lived Ian, the elder brother, Amber, the younger, and somewhere in the mansion, bedridden, was their father—the head of the family. Though the brothers had different mothers, no sign of either woman remained in the house.
Every morning and evening, the three of them would dine together.
The brothers seemed to get along well enough.
After breakfast, Amber would go to school, while Ian either would shut himself away in his study or would leave for work.
With a few servants around, Ange had little to do and would find himself with too much time on his hands.
Whenever he offered to help, the staff would politely refuse, saying, "You are Lord Ian's future partner."
At times, Ian would invite Ange for a walk, though it was always within the confines of the mansion grounds.
Ian's gentle manner and soothing, low voice had a certain charm. Ange could now understand why the Omegas at the shop had been so captivated by him.
Yet, the feelings Ian stirred within him were not the same as the tightness that gripped his chest when he thought of Amber.
Ange could sense it the moment Amber returned home. It was as though his very being recognized Amber's presence.
Suppressing the urge to rush to him, Ange would casually make his way to the entrance or discreetly lean over the railing on the second floor to catch a glimpse of him, hidden from sight.
And no matter how stealthily he peeked, those amber-colored eyes would always catch his gaze.
Amber would then flash that familiar, affectionate smile and start talking to him.
They'd exchange lighthearted words, and before parting, Amber would always steal a kiss, while hidden in the shadows.
But it was always a brief, fleeting kiss.
Still, that small act felt like their shared secret, and each time it would make Ange's heart race.
Ian had only kissed Ange once—on the day he'd taken him from the shop.
At that moment, Ange had frozen, unable to move. It wasn't from excitement—it was from some kind of fear.
It was nothing like the feelings he had for Amber.
──What should I do? I'm actually in love with Amber.
From the very first moment they met, Amber's eyes had already captured Ange's soul.
But Ange was the Omega that Ian had chosen to be his bonded mate—to ensure the continuity of their Alpha bloodline.
Surely, Amber couldn't defy Ian, not until Ange's heat failed to come by on the next full moon, and he was free to leave this place.
And so, in the blink of an eye, a week passed, and the day of the full moon arrived.
