Chapter 8 - Ange, My Angel

Translator's Note:

Hello, I hope you've all been doing well.

Here you go, and I wish you a good read.

Fated Mate (1)

A week had passed since then.

Thanks to Amber, Ange had started working at the club Liberty Bell without any issues.

The club's Omega employees all lived in a boarding house, a dormitory-style building. While there were shared spaces like the dining room and laundry room, each resident had their own private bedroom, making things comfortable. Above all, the fact that everyone was an Omega made the atmosphere easier to relax into.

Just as Amber had promised, Ange's job consisted of simple clerical tasks and odd jobs. He had never once needed to work the floor.

At first, the manager who he was introduced to didn't seem too pleased, but Amber had quickly taken care of that.

"He's underage. If you even think about putting him out on the floor, I'll sue you. And I'll let my father and brother know, too," Amber had said, without a hint of hesitation, speaking to a manager more than ten years his senior. That manager hadn't argued further.

"Don't worry. I'm aiming to be a lawyer, after all," Amber had added with a playful grin, though Ange wasn't sure whether he'd meant it as a joke or not.

However, Ange had yet to meet Amber's older brother, who was the acting manager of the business. Amber had explained that they were half-brothers, with a twelve-year age gap. It was a topic Amber had casually mentioned when they'd first met, but since that day, Ange hadn't seen him again.

"What's he doing now, anyway?" Ange murmured unconsciously, gazing out the window at the crescent moon, faintly glowing in the clouded evening sky. Startled by his own thoughts, he quickly shook his head.

Amber had just helped out a lost Omega on the streets, nothing more.

After all, Liberty Bell was a club designed to assist Omegas in need, just like Ange. Amber had simply done what the club was meant to do, and after introducing him to the job, the high schooler had no further reason to be involved in Ange's life.

Ange reminded himself of this: Amber was the second son of a wealthy family that owned several high-end clubs in Eastschist, a boy with a promising future as a lawyer. Someone like him should not be involved any further with a filthy Omega like Ange.
