Chapter 19 - Ange, My Angel

Translator's Note:

Hello, I hope you've all been doing well.

Here you go, and I wish you a good read.

The First Night (5)

Outside the house, Amber headed straight to the garage and chose a car at random. He climbed into the driver's seat, looking over at Ange.

"Get in, Ange."

Ange slipped into the passenger seat, and Amber carefully buckled his seatbelt.

"You have a license?" Ange asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course. Though I haven't driven much."

"Are you sure it's okay? This is your family's car."

"It's fine," Amber replied, grinning. "It's fine. I'm sure my father will think of it as a fitting farewell gift for his son."

The sky above was once again overcast, hiding the moon behind thick clouds.

"Where are we going?"

"Anywhere. Wherever the road takes us."

Amber flashed a bright smile, but then added, "Although, we should probably find somewhere to stay soon... I'm not exactly at my best right now."

"You'll transform too?"

"Are you scared?"

"Not really."

Amber started the car, driving with no clear destination in mind. He had no idea where they could find a future where a beastman and a human Omega could live quietly together. But that didn't matter now. They were together, and that was enough.

"Didn't you want to be a lawyer? Leaving home will make it hard to stay in school."

The world outside was too harsh for two teenagers. They hadn't prepared for this. In their bags, they only had a change of clothes and a wallet.

"Are you scared?" Amber asked again, his voice gentle.

"Not really."

Ange repeated the same words, and both of them burst into quiet laughter.

After driving for a couple of hours, they found themselves far from the city, on a lonely country road. The traffic had thinned, and the surrounding darkness was complete, save for the faint glow of their headlights, illuminating only the centerline of the road. Eventually, a small, old motel appeared ahead.

"Let's stay there tonight."

Amber parked the car, and Ange stepped out, his eyes wandering around curiously. It was his first time at a place like this, and he couldn't help but glance about in wonder. But suddenly, his heart started pounding loudly, an unfamiliar rhythm echoing through his chest.

"…What…?"

At first, he thought it was nothing, but the pounding grew faster, louder. It was as if his entire body had become one with his heart, each pulse sending waves of heat through his whole being.

"Ange?"

Amber's voice came from behind, having returned after paying for their stay. Hearing him made Ange's body flush even hotter, his strength draining until he could barely stand.

"…What is this? It's… it's scary…"

"Are you okay? Wait… this scent…"

Amber's arms wrapped around Ange's shoulders, trying to steady him, but suddenly, Amber himself started changing. His expression shifted, and a low growl escaped his throat as the moonlight, breaking through the clouds, spilled into the parking lot.

"Ugh…"

The sound of Amber's voice, thick with tension, only intensified Ange's heat. Amber could no longer resist the pheromones radiating from Ange's body.

This wasn't the place for him to transform.

Summoning all the reason he had left, Amber lifted Ange in his arms and carried him swiftly into the motel room.
