Chapter 84: Final Part
Back then, Yuto had been deeply worried. He wondered if it was really okay for Ren to make such a public revelation during such a delicate stage of his pregnancy.
But Ren, now carrying new life within him, stood taller and stronger than ever before.
At Kunishiro Holdings's shareholder meeting, flanked by Aoi and Mikado, Ren calmly and openly declared that he was an Omega.
Yuto had watched from the wings. The moment Ren spoke the truth, the hall was plunged into an almost eerie silence—like a still lake undisturbed by even a breath of wind. The tension in the air was unforgettable.
Yet Ren remained composed, his voice gentle and unwavering as he shared his story.
The truth of their parents' deaths. Aoi's past blindness. The legacy of their father's business, which he had sworn to protect at all costs—
He recounted these burdens as though they were someone else's, his voice transmitted clearly through the microphone. His expression never wavered, imbued with a quiet dignity and grace that made his beauty even more striking than usual. The entire audience listened intently, captivated. Among the Omega shareholders, some were moved to tears.
Ren spoke of how his younger brother, Aoi, had grown into a fine man. How he had found a lifelong partner in Mikado. And how he now carried new life within him.
Only after sharing all of this did Ren finally smile at the crowd for the first time.
And then, in a clear and resolute voice, he declared:
"I will do everything within my power to help build a world where Omegas are neither socially nor sexually marginalized, where they can serve and thrive in the roles they choose."
For many, it was a stunning revelation—Ren Kunishiro, long regarded as the "Alpha among Alphas," was, in truth, an Omega. Some in the audience could not fully hide their confusion or disbelief.
But once Ren had finished speaking, the room erupted into thunderous applause and cheers of support.
For a while afterward, Ren's coming out stirred quite a commotion in the media. Yet Ren faced it all with a breezy calm, simply saying, "It feels like a weight's finally been lifted," with a peaceful smile on his face.
Although he occasionally faced criticism, the public response to his revelation was, by and large, overwhelmingly positive.
Ren's body of work—the monumental achievements he had amassed over the years—spoke for itself. Foreign dignitaries and leaders who knew Ren's legacy issued statement after statement, praising his courage and accomplishments.
And now, at last, Ren lived without a single falsehood in his life.
Though he continued to receive endless interview requests, invitations for speaking engagements, and even political endorsements, he carried on at his own pace, working steadily and without rush.

"We're home."
"We're hoooome! Hey brats, were you being good!?"
As the family relaxed in the lull before dinner, Ren and Mikado walked into the living room, having coincidentally returned at the same time.
Unlike Aoi, Mikado had a natural gift with children, and both Shion and the twins lit up at the sight of him. It had become something of a ritual for Yuto to comfort Aoi whenever he sulked about it.
"You two must've had your hands full," said Mikado.
"Welcome back, Brother," Aoi greeted him.
"Welcome home, Mr. Ren," Yuto added with a warm smile.
Ren, dressed as sharply as ever in a crisp suit, now radiated a gentler presence since giving birth. The sharp aura he used to carry had softened noticeably.
His soft, golden hair now slightly longer, framed his fine-boned features gently. His jade-green eyes, as they swept over his family, narrowed with deep affection. Stroking Shion's head, who had flung himself at Mikado, Ren smiled tenderly.
"Were the twins well-behaved?"
"They were! We made Daddy be the horsey, and we played chase too!"
"You made Aoi the horse? …I see. My apologies, Aoi."
"It's fine. Being a horse once in a while isn't so bad."
"You must be tired. Shall I have Haruhito give you a back massage later?"
Ren said it with complete sincerity. Mikado thumped his chest confidently and offered, "Just let me do it! I'll work those knots out myself!"
"…Gross. Please don't," Aoi replied flatly.
"Hey! That's harsh! Gross? Really? I thought we were closer than that!"
"What kind of 'close' do you think this is? And why are you the only one Shion likes so much, anyway?"
"Haha, don't be jealous! I've got nieces and nephews already, remember? I've had plenty of practice dealing with kids. Maybe it's time I taught you a few tricks."
"…Tricks, huh."
Watching Aoi scowl as Mikado slung an arm over his shoulder, Ren let out a laugh, clearly amused.
Then, scooping up Rei, who had crawled over to him with a happy little squeal, Ren made his way toward Yuto, who was sitting with Tasuku and reading a picture book.
"Yuto, I'm sorry. I know it's hard, especially while your body's still adjusting."
"Not at all," Yuto replied with a soft shake of the head. "Compared to when I was pregnant with Shion, this time's been a breeze. No morning sickness at all, really."
Indeed, Yuto was now carrying their second child.
Like with Shion, it had taken a little time to conceive, but so far, things were progressing smoothly. With no symptoms of morning sickness, Yuto was even managing to continue attending university.
"Ahhh—Mamaaa!"
"There, there. Come here, sweetie."
The moment Ren approached, Tasuku unsteadily stood up from Yuto's lap—only to promptly flop onto the rug face-first. He slowly lifted his head with a stunned expression, as if refusing to believe he had actually fallen.
"Ah! Tasuku, are you okay!?"
"He's fine. If you cry over every little tumble, you'll never be able to call yourself a man of the Kunishiro family, will you?"
"Uu... Uuuu..."
"He looks like he's about to cry, though."
"Good grief..."
Despite his exasperated tone, the gentle downturn of Ren's brows and the light in his eyes made him look positively divine—like a saint. Yuto recalled Suno once breathlessly saying, 'Mr. Ren is sacred... I just want to bow down and worship him,' and found himself quietly agreeing.
"Come here, Tasuku."
"Uuuu... Waaahhhh!"
"There, there, it hurts, doesn't it? Poor baby."
"Waaaaa!! Aaaaahh!!"
"Aaaaaaahhhhhh!!! Fwuh-gyyaaahhh!!"
Rei, apparently deeply offended by the fact that only Tasuku was being held, burst into tears on the rug. Mikado hurried over to pick him up, cooing, "What's wrong, Rei~?" But Rei kicked at Mikado's chest and arched his back, wailing louder than ever.
"Seems like you're not what he wants... Come here, Rei."
"Tch, fine, fine..."
Mikado reluctantly handed Rei over to Ren, though his face was utterly, hopelessly smitten. Yuto and Aoi exchanged a knowing smile.
"You can't talk—you're just as bad."
"Hey, the kid was crying! It couldn't be helped. Anyway, I'm better at playing with them, obviously."
"Oh yeah? Big words. Then do the horse right now."
"The horse...? ...Wait a second, Aoi. Are you saying you have a thing for— What exactly do you want me to—"
"What!? You're the one going off the rails here! Ugh, gross."
As the two grown Alpha men devolved into ridiculous banter, Yuto picked Shion up with practiced ease.
"Hey! Don't carry me right now!"
"Huh? You were all 'hold me, hold me' just a minute ago."
"Not when Mr. Ren's here!! Rei and Tasuku are watching too!!"
Wriggling out of Yuto's arms, Shion clung tightly to his leg while casting an upward glance at Ren. No doubt, he wanted to show he could behave, since Ren always went on about what it meant to be a proper man of the Kunishiro family.
Four years old, and already calculating… Yuto thought, ruffling Shion's hair. It was hard to believe this clever little boy was growing up in such a complicated world—something Yuto couldn't have imagined at his age.
"We're making Shion overthink things, aren't we?"
Ren's voice came soft, tinged with guilt. Yuto shook his head quickly.
"No, really—it's fine. When he's with just me and Aoi, he's a spoiled little handful. So this is actually a good balance."
"I'm glad. Aoi grumbles sometimes... does Shion have trouble with his father?"
"Not exactly. He loves Aoi and wants to be close to him—but he just can't bring himself to be openly affectionate. I think... he wants to show Aoi how grown-up he can be."
"…I see. I know how that feels."
Ren smiled faintly, his gaze softening with a faraway look.
He must have been thinking back to his own childhood. Ren had lived with his parents until the age of eight, so it made sense that he'd carry stronger feelings of attachment to them than Aoi ever could. That thought stirred an unexpected ache in Yuto's chest.
"My parents were strict and always busy. I don't remember being able to rely on them much. But Aoi… he barely even had the chance. Maybe that's why he struggles with how to interact with children."
"…Right."
"When I think about that, I can't help but feel a little sorry for him."
Aoi had lost his parents at just three years old. Yuto recalled how he once said he could barely remember them at all.
But Aoi had Ren. To Aoi, Ren had been a parent, a brother, someone who accepted his tears and his need for comfort.
"That's not true. Master Aoi had Mr. Ren. And Mr. Ren raised him to be the incredible person he is now."
"'Raised him,' huh…"
"Yes! And besides, Master Aoi and Shion—they get along wonderfully when it's just the two of them. I think they both get a little shy when I'm around."
"...I see. Like father, like son, huh?"
"Exactly. It's adorable."
Yuto said this with a warm smile, and the hint of loneliness in Ren's expression faded into a soft, unguarded grin. He looked down at the twins in his arms, gazing at them one after the other with a gentle smile that bloomed like spring.
"I wonder what kind of personalities these two will grow up to have."
"Their faces are the spitting image of yours, Mr. Ren. I'm sure they'll become dignified, admirable young men."
"Hmm… I've always been gloomy by nature. I kind of hope they don't end up too much like me."
"Gloomy!? Wait, I've never thought that about you!"
"I am. Or maybe just overly pessimistic… I've always had this habit of assuming the worst-case scenario first, so I struggle to think positively, no matter what the situation."
"Ah… well, that cautious mindset is probably exactly what's made Kunishiro Holdings what it is today. It's a strength. Really!"
"...Heh. Yuto, your Japanese has gotten pretty good."
"Wait, that was a jab, wasn't it? I know enough to catch it now!"
Being able to trade words so freely like this with Ren was, to Yuto, a quiet happiness in itself. To share space and time with the person who was not only his beloved mate's brother but also his own brother-in-law—Ren, whom he deeply respected—brought him a quiet kind of strength.
"I hope they take after Haruhito," Ren added softly. "If they can see the world like he does—always bright and full of hope—life would be so much more joyful for them."
"Oh… I know exactly what you mean. Mr. Haruhito always looks so happy, like he's enjoying every single day."
"Right? I'm honestly a little jealous of the way that man's mind works."
"Hey, hold on—are you saying I'm simple-minded?"
They turned to see Haruhito himself standing nearby, arms crossed and a bemused smile on his face. Ren, unfazed, met his eyes with a cool smirk.
"Did it sound like that?"
"Eh, whatever. You know it's fine. You think too much, so I just balance you out."
"Oh? So what, you do have a more complex brain than you let on?"
"Of course I do! I think about all kinds of stuff!"
"Like what, exactly?"
"Uh… well, you know… just… stuff. A lot of stuff."
"Hm."
Ren's tone had a touch of teasing in it, as though he were making light of Haruhito—but both their expressions were warm, unmistakably happy. The atmosphere between Ren and Mikado was so sweet it made even Yuto blush just watching them.
"Mama, I'm hungry."
A small voice cut in. They turned to see Aoi standing nearby with Shion in his arms.
It looked like, for once, Shion had asked to be picked up on his own. His face didn't show much, but his eyes sparkled, and there was an unmistakable joy in Aoi's expression. Yuto couldn't help but chuckle.
"Yeah, we should probably head to the dining room soon. If we keep Mr. Seta waiting, we'll never hear the end of it."
"Yeah, yeah, he's super noisy!"*
[T/N: 「そーそー、うるせーうるせー」("Yeah, yeah, he's super noisy.")
This is very casual and rough language—"うるせー" is a shortened, slangy version of "うるさい" (noisy). It's often used in casual or rude speech, especially among close friends or in lower-status, informal settings.]
"Hey now, Yuto. Don't teach Shion weird words."
"Ah—sorry!"
Yuto straightened up instinctively, caught red-handed. His habit of slipping into his old servant speech hadn't entirely disappeared, and it was sometimes through Shion that Ren would catch it.
Aoi was far too forgiving when it came to these things—so Ren had to be the one to stay on top of it.
"It's fine," Aoi said lazily. "Once they hit puberty, they'll probably start saying stuff like that anyway."
"I never used language like that," Ren replied coolly.
"Aoi did in high school," Mikado cut in, juggling the twins with practiced ease. "You used to say stuff like 'shut up already, Ren' all the time."
"Hey!! Did you really have to say that in front of him?!"
"Hmm… so you had a rebellious phase, too, huh, Aoi? That's news to me. Fascinating."
"…"
"I look forward to hearing more about it over dinner tonight."
Ren gave Aoi a sharp look, struggling to keep a straight face. Aoi, sighing in resignation, muttered, "Yeah, yeah… Haruhito, you are so dead later."
Laughter from the children, and the meandering chatter of family.
Just this ordinary, unremarkable moment was enough to fill Yuto's heart with warmth.
Quietly, he reached out and touched Aoi's back as he held Shion close, letting the happiness of this fleeting moment sink in deep.
