"...I know."

—A bond cannot be broken unless one of the partners dies.

Everyone knew that.

"Humans like you—Omegas—react violently when touched by anyone other than their bonded pair, don't they?" the man's breath grew hot against Ange's back, the air thick with menace. Saliva dripped from the beast's parted snout onto Ange's bare skin, sending a shudder of revulsion through him. Ange stiffened, shrinking away.

"Stop... please..."

"Your body rejects it. But a bonded werewolf alpha can still mate with anyone they please. It's just that they can't form a bond with anyone else," the man continued, his voice a mix of arrogance and amusement.

The bond between an alpha and an omega was unique. Only when an omega's neck was bitten during mating would their pheromones stop responding to other alphas. From that moment onward, they belonged to one another.

If Amber ever wanted to bond with another omega, Ange would have to die first.

"He could marry an alpha or a beta without any issues, but an omega? That's a whole different story," the man said with a twisted grin.

In human society, constantly under threat from hunters, werewolves blended in, their survival often hinging on bonding with human omegas, who had a higher likelihood of producing alphas.

"You know, the Tikaani family might come after you, only to kill you."

Of course, with Amber's mixed blood, there's always a chance they'll make him bond with one of their purebred white alphas, the man laughed to himself.

A chill ran down Ange's spine.

"In that case, maybe you should strike first before you're the one struck down," the man whispered, his voice dropping into a dangerous murmur by Ange's ear.

"What... what are you planning?" Ange asked, his voice trembling.

"What else?" the man chuckled darkly. "A way to break the bond."

There was a faint click behind him, and Ange felt the cold press of something hard and metallic against the back of his head.

"Do you know what this is?" the man asked.

Ange didn't need to look to know.

"A... gun..." he whispered.

"That's right. If you kill Aaron with this, you'll be free. Free to be with me," the man said.

But ordinary weapons didn't work on werewolves. Even if a bullet pierced their heart, it wouldn't be fatal for them.

"This isn't just any gun. The bullets inside are made of consecrated silver."

Silver, which was almost harmless to humans, was deadly to werewolves. It had the power to destroy their cells, leaving no room for recovery.

Ange had always thought werewolves were nothing more than fictional monsters, creatures coming straight out of movies and books. But now, faced with this terrifying reality, he had no choice but to believe it.

"I could never kill Amber. And I'd rather die than bond with you," Ange spat defiantly.

The man didn't reply, only letting out a derisive laugh before carelessly tossing the gun to the corner of the bed.

"Even holding that thing makes my hand go numb," he muttered, his voice laced with irritation as he grabbed Ange's waist with both hands, pulling him close.

"Ah!" Ange gasped, feeling the man's large hands spread his buttcheeks apart, pressing the beast's rough length against his narrow cleavage.

"No... no!" Ange pleaded, his voice quivering with desperation.

"They're late. I can't wait any longer," the man growled, his patience clearly wearing thin.

Ange's body trembled violently, nausea rising in his throat. He retched, staining the sheets once again, though there was nothing left inside him to expel but bitter bile.

"Go ahead, puke all you want. I'll keep going on my end," the man taunted coldly, tightening his grip as Ange tried to crawl away.

Claws dug into his skin, drawing blood, but the overwhelming sickness he felt drowned out the pain.
