Ange had wanted to bite the man's tongue off. But the overwhelming nausea rising within him had prevented him from going that far.
Twisting his body, Ange crawled to the edge of the bed. The moment he reached it, he retched, bringing up the small piece of bread he'd eaten earlier.
"Rejection, huh? That must hurt like hell, but don't worry. I'm a nice guy. I'll let it slide."
Grabbing a fistful of his hair, the man dragged Ange back to the center of the bed.
"Omegas, when they mate with someone who isn't their bonded partner, their bodies go into rejection. Hurts like a bitch, doesn't it?"
Straddling Ange's fragile form, the man looked down at him with a twisted grin, still speaking casually.
Without breaking eye contact with Ange, the man called out to one of his companions standing by the door.
"Hey, bring me that."
—That… what is it?
The question lingered in Ange's mind, but a sharp, stabbing pain pierced through his head, making it impossible to focus on anything else. His thoughts grew hazy, and he could no longer think clearly.
"Rejection hurts, doesn't it? But don't worry. I know a way to make it better. Wouldn't you prefer to feel good?"
—I'm a nice guy, after all…
The man's voice trailed off as he accepted something from his subordinate.
Ange's vision blurred as he watched the man draw up a solution into a syringe—a white powder dissolved into liquid. The light in his pale blue eyes was fading, replaced with a distant, detached numbness.
The man looked down at him, satisfaction glinting in his eyes as a smirk tugged at his lips.
"If I inject this into your veins, the nausea, the chills, everything will fade away. The rejection will settle, and you'll feel nice and calm. Sounds good, doesn't it?"
Rolling up his sleeve, the man grabbed Ange's slender arm.
A small drop of liquid emerged from the fine needle, hanging in the air for a moment before it fell.
Relief? Could this really make it stop? Was it some kind of painkiller? If it could make this suffering go away…
Humans are weak. Even Ange found himself tempted by the idea of escaping pain, of grabbing hold of anything that might dull the agony.
He couldn't keep his eyes open anymore—the dizziness was overwhelming.
Closing his heavy eyelids, he saw nothing but darkness.
—But… what if the rejection stopped?
A small voice echoed in the back of his mind.
Would he let this man use him, just like that? Let his body be tainted by someone other than Amber? Would he let this stranger carve his touch into him, force new sensations into his skin?
Would he let this monster shove his lust deep into his belly, impregnating him, filling him with his seed?
The voice kept questioning Ange, urging him to face the truth.
