Hello, I hope you've all been doing well.
Here you go, and I wish you a good read.

The days of
the merman prince, Rito, would often begin with a treasure hunt alongside his
beloved, Glen. At times, they would venture to the shipwrecks that lay near the
royal castle, while on other days, they would set up temporary camps near distant,
forgotten vessels, gathering treasures before returning home. All these riches
were delivered to the lair of a sea witch in her watery domain.
Both Rito and Glen owed a great debt
to the ruler of the merfolk and the five princesses. Whenever they stumbled
upon beautiful things, their hearts yearned to take them back to the royal
palace, but alas, that could not be. For the curse upon the dagger had been
lifted without offering the witch the body of the kingdom's fairest, as
promised. Moreover, Glen had been saved by the blood of a dolphin mermaid,
drawn from the heart of the young prince. By the power of the sea, and the will
of Rito's father, the king of the merfolk, Glen had been brought back to life—a
miracle without doubt, yet one that held no benefit for the witch. Thus, the
two had pledged their days to gathering treasures for her.
It was a burden, for neither knew how
long their task would continue. Nevertheless, the young men accepted it as a
duty—one they believed was just, and so they labored each day, scouring the
seas for yet another hidden trove.
"Master Glen, did you find
anything new among the books today?" Rito asked, his voice soft as the sea
breeze.
"Aye, quite a few. Though many
are beyond reading... too worn by time and water."
"If the pages remain whole, it is
no matter. We can ask Father to restore them," Rito replied with a smile.
The two, now in their dolphin forms,
emerged from the deep grotto of the kingdom of Fyun and shifted back into their
merfolk shapes as they neared the underwater castle. Though they were both
called "mermen," only Rito possessed the telltale fishtail, while
Glen, who had become a child of the sea by consuming a merman's heart, still
appeared as a human. And as he could not swim with the speed of a true merfolk,
he often took the form of a dolphin when they journeyed together. Whenever he
visited his younger brother, Hans, he would likewise don the guise of the sea
creature.
"It feels a bit improper to ask
the king of the merfolk to mend so many books," Glen mused. "We
should choose just two or three."
"Two or three? Is that really
all?" Rito chuckled softly.
"Aye, wait a moment. I'm going to
change and bring out a few. There are some I think you'll like. I hope you've
not read them already," Glen added, retreating to their room to change his
clothes.
In Rito's chamber, Glen dressed in
soft silken garments, slipping his arms through the sleeves of a royal robe.
Tilting his head, he glanced at the rows of books stacked haphazardly on the
shelves. "Perhaps this one. And I would like to read that one, too. Have
you read none of these?"
"None, not yet. They all seem to
have charming titles," Rito answered, grinning.
Together they gazed at the books they
held, sharing a quiet, contented laugh.
Though the magic of the king of the
merfolk was not quite like that of the witch, he, too, could perform small
wonders—returning rusted metals to their former glory, or restoring the ink
upon water-stained pages. The king was ever willing to do whatever his son and
Glen requested. And while Glen remained reserved, the king's heart swelled with
joy that his once-lost child had been revived. Glen, whom Rito had brought
back, was now loved as dearly as any of his own sons. The entire castle
welcomed him with warmth and hospitality.
"Master Glen, I think Father
finds great purpose in being needed by us. There's no need to hold back. Let us
gather all the books we can find!" Rito exclaimed with a playful wave of
his tail.
"Is he not indulging us too
much?" Glen asked, though he smiled.
"It's quite all right. I used to
hold back as well, being the son of the second wife, and marked with dolphin
blood. But it saddened Father and my sisters. Now I believe allowing oneself to
be doted upon is a form of filial duty," Rito said as he settled upon the
edge of the bed, his tail swishing gently.
He glanced at Glen, who stood across
the room, leafing through a few books piled upon the table. It was a pleasing
sight to behold—both the man himself and the way he fit into the room, as
though he belonged there. A warm smile crept onto Rito's lips. He was deeply
grateful to Glen for staying with him. With his fine legs, Glen could easily
have returned to the world of men. But Rito knew, though it pained him, that if
he confessed the truth of his nature—that he could not live without the sea—his
heart might stop, bound by the laws of the ocean.
Yet Glen had made his choice, not to
return home, but to remain with him. And for that, Rito's heart brimmed with
joy and affection.
"How fortunate that Hans, too,
loves books. I'm glad those I left for him have captured his interest,"
Rito mused.
"Aye, he's diligent and clever. A
worthy young prince, even at his tender age," Glen agreed.
"He seems far more responsible
than I ever was," Rito said with a soft chuckle.
Glen, with a slight, bittersweet
smile, approached. His robe fluttered in the water as he moved gracefully
toward Rito, settling beside him on the bed.
"Rito…" Glen whispered.
"Yes, Lord Glen?" Rito
responded, his voice soft and serene.
The young merman relished the
happiness that enveloped him in this moment. They leaned into each other, their
fingers naturally intertwining as if they were one. Their days were simple yet
filled with joy—mornings spent gathering treasures from sunken ships,
afternoons bringing them to the sea witch, evenings visiting Prince Hans, and
nights falling asleep together on the same bed. The labor of searching through
mud-covered wrecks, often filled with nothing but the bones of the dead, was
exhausting, yet Rito felt more than content.
"I may not be able to meet Hans
in this form... but I want to do all I can for my brother, just as you once did
for me," Glen said, his voice tinged with affection.
"Mmm…"
Rito could not reply, for Glen's lips
pressed softly against his own, silencing him with a tender kiss. Under the
soft blue glow of the underwater world, Rito wrapped his arms around Glen's
shoulders. Whenever Glen was near, he felt a rush of euphoria, no matter the
time of day. But the happiest moments were those when they kissed like this, or
when their bodies intertwined, becoming one.
"Lord Glen…" Rito whispered.
As Glen's hand gently traced the
scales of Rito's fishtail, the young merman gazed into his beloved's eyes, his
heart full of tender emotions. As they lay down together, Rito realized this
night would be one where they would go further, where their connection would
deepen beyond words.
Some nights they would simply hold one
another, too weary to do more than exchange soft touches. Other nights, they
would simply sleep, pressed together in quiet contentment. But there were also
moments when the flames of passion burned brightly in Glen's eyes, and that
passion would spread to Rito, warming his usually cool body until it burned
with desire, like that of a human. Tonight was such a night, and his body
responded instantly, heat flaring from within.
"I've worked so hard today... I
think I deserve a reward," Glen murmured playfully.
"Yes…" Rito breathed.
"Though I imagine you're tired
too. Does such a request sound strange?"
"No... It's a reward for me as
well," Rito replied with a soft laugh, his cheeks flushing with warmth.
As Rito lay on his back, smiling
shyly, Glen grinned down at him. When the merman became aroused, the scales on
his lower body would shift and quiver, trembling as Glen's hands brushed over
his hips. Slowly, the usually hidden back hole was exposed, welcoming Glen's
fingers. His genitals swelled, and his member, as pale as his skin, appeared
just a bit lower than it typically would on a human.
To Glen, there was nothing strange
about it. On the contrary, he found the sight of Rito's delicate member
enchanting. "So innocent, like a child's… so lovely," he whispered,
before trailing kisses down his body, taking him into his mouth.
"A-ah… ngh… ah…" Rito
gasped, his voice trembling as Glen's mouth moved skillfully against him.
"Mmm…"
Rito's body trembled with pleasure, as
he was getting a blowjob, his fins quivering against the bed. And as Glen's
fingers moved more vigorously within him, his organ tensed even more, so much
so that it became almost unbearable.
"Fua… ngh…!"
But just as he neared the edge, Glen
pulled away, leaving Rito gasping for breath, his body trembling with
unfulfilled need. He knew what was to come next, that he would need to turn
over for them to fully join, but instead, Glen gently laid him back down.
"Just a little longer... be patient," Glen whispered as he hovered
over him, his dark hair falling wildly over his eyes. He shed his white robe
and leaned down to kiss Rito's chest tenderly.
"A-ah… ha-a… ah…"
Rito arched his back as Glen's lips
teased his sensitive skin. His nipples, though exposed daily, had not lost
their sensitivity, and Rito found himself trembling beneath Glen's touch.
The room, crafted from soft pink
coral, was warm and comforting. The water that filled it was as clear as
crystal. Though night had fallen above the sea's surface, the light from the
golden sand below filtered through the amber windows, illuminating the room in
a gentle glow. The ceiling, shaped like a dome, was inlaid with shimmering
pearls that reflected the seven colors of the rainbow, casting a magical light
across the bed.
The bed, where Rito now lay, had once
been salvaged from a wrecked ship. Made of metal, it had been restored to its
former glory, looking as new as the day it was forged. Instead of a mattress,
soft seaweed had been spread over the frame, topped with a silken sheet.
"Mmm… ngh… a-a-a…"
"Rito…"
As Glen continued to kiss his chest,
his hands slid lower, teasing the hidden spot between Rito's human torso and
fishtail. The merman gasped, his body aching with the pleasure that only Glen
could awaken. His hips, normally so ticklish to the touch, were now highly
sensitive, making him shiver with every caress.
"Ngh… ah… Lord… Glen…"
"Is it enough? I can no longer
hold back…" Glen whispered, his voice husky with desire.
"Yes… ah!"
With that, Glen gently turned Rito
over, his hands gripping the merman's sensitive hips. As his body was pressed
against the soft, silken sheets, Glen's thumbs of both hands entered the fleshy
hole, opening the tender flesh to the limit.
"Mmm... ahhh..." Rito
whimpered softly.
Though the rest of the merman's body
was cool, deep within, it burned with a heat that welcomed Glen's touch. As
their bodies intertwined, Rito's tail twitched with delight, and his muscles
tightened, pulling Glen deeper into his embrace.
"A-ah... so hot…" Rito
gasped.
"Kkh…!"
In a blissful haze, Rito trembled, overwhelmed
by the sensation of something even hotter filling the most tender part of him.
He couldn't help but relish the sweet moan that escaped Glen's lips. Wanting to
please his beloved even more, Rito began to move his tail, swaying it as though
swimming through the sea. Grasping the bedframe to keep from slipping forward,
he flicked his fins, causing Glen to sink even deeper inside him.
"Rito... your merman's body... so
sinful…" Glen groaned, his voice heavy with lust.
"Ah... ah... Lord Gle-en!"
Rito gasped, his voice faltering.
"It has captured me, and it won't
let go…"
Rito continued to move his tail,
holding tightly to the bed, while Glen, his arms wrapped around Rito's waist,
pushed forward with growing intensity. All around them, countless bubbles
floated silently to the surface, as though the very fabric of the sea had been
swept up in the whirlwind of their passion.
"Lord Glen!" Rito cried,
arching his body as he longed to reach Glen's lips.
This was a paradise beneath the sea...
a sanctuary where two souls, who had lost their lives on land, now shared a
love that would span centuries. Together, they lived an unhurried and peaceful
happiness, one only found in the depths of the ocean.

Postscript
Greetings, this is Nono Inukai. I am
truly overjoyed that the story I originally wrote as a web series has now
become a printed book, complete with the beautiful illustrations by Ayumi
Kasai.
Regarding the content, since this was
initially a web series, it gave me the opportunity to write things I normally
wouldn't... So I ended up writing a BL fairy tale that I've long wanted to
share.
The first series, The Ring, was more
of an anthology with a central theme, marking my first experience in uniting
stories into one collection. The Bronze Anklet was about eros, The Silver Ring
focused on first love, while The Golden Bracelet revolved around sounds. Using
motifs from the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel, I took on the challenge of
writing about an older seme, which was something new for me.
The second story, The Mermaid
Princess's Younger Brother, was born from a desire to have the prince look at
the mermaid before him, rather than the beautiful woman who had helped him.
Finally, I would like to express my
heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved, including those who picked up this
book, the readers who supported me during the serialization, and of course,
Ayumi Kasai for her beautiful illustrations.
Nono Inukai.
