Chapter 22 [END] - Ange, My Angel
Translator's Note:
Hello, I hope you've all been doing well. I really cried after finishing this, ngl.
But there is good news!!
This novel isn't over yet. There is a sequel that picks up the story where this novel left off, continuing the events from Chapter 20 onward.
I'll start working on it soon, although releases won't be this fast.
Here you go, and I wish you a good read.
Forever… (2)
Deep in the heart of the forest.
In a place where no one else ventured, a field of beautiful, light-blue flowers spread out, bathed in a soft, ethereal glow.
"Ah… they've bloomed beautifully again this year, Ange. The baby blue eyes you loved so much…"
Amber whispered softly, pressing his nose into the carpet of blue flowers.
The warm and gentle sunlight reflected off his silver-gray fur, making it shimmer like silver dust.
The delicate fragrance of the flowers gently filled the air.
It was just like──
"Ange's scent…"
The sweet, nostalgic fragrance, the very same as that moment when their souls burned and melted into each other, enveloped Amber's body entirely.
"Soon… we'll be together again."
When he closed his eyes, he could see the image of his beloved so clearly.
The soft warmth of the sunlight and the sweet scent lulled him into a peaceful slumber.
──Amber…
It was a familiar voice.
He heard it right beside him.
──Are you sleeping?
It was unmistakable.
Slowly, Amber lifted his heavy eyelids.
"I'm awake. I've been waiting for you, Ange."
With his nose still buried in the flowers, Amber looked up, catching Ange's gaze. His lips were pursed in a slight pout, as if teasing.
His eyes were the same beautiful shade of light blue as the flowers.
"You're as stunning as ever."
──Just like back then, you haven't changed at all.
Amber rose slowly, closing the distance between them, but Ange turned his face away with a playful flick.
"You knew I was coming, didn't you? I wanted to surprise you."
──That attitude hadn't changed either.
Amber chuckled softly and shook his head.
"I thought an Ange had descended from heaven. You really caught me off guard."
"You don't seem surprised at all."
Amber pressed a kiss to Ange's pale cheek and nuzzled his face into the delicate curve of his neck, inhaling the sweet scent that lingered there.
"I love you, Ange."
Amber let out a soft, contented sigh, and Ange giggled, a bit ticklish.
"You don't need to say it. I already know."
Ange's gaze met Amber's as he blushed lightly.
"I love you too…"
Though his whispered words were soft, barely carried by the gentle breeze, they reached Amber's ears clearly.
Without knowing who moved first, their lips met in a tender kiss.
That sweet, sweet fragrance—flowers mingling with Ange's scent.
──They would never be apart again.
The aged Amber's eyelids would never open again.
The once jet-black fur that Ange had likened to a soldier's had long since turned gray.
Soft, white snow continued to fall, covering Amber's still body until it became impossible to tell him apart from the earth beneath.
By now, surely, he had reunited with his white angel.
