Chapter 2 - Ange, My Angel

Translator's Note:

Hello, I hope you've all been doing well.

Here you go, and I wish you a good read.

Encounter (2)

In the great eastern metropolis of Eastschist, people from diverse nationalities and cultures mingled and lived together. The city's downtown, however, was notorious as its most dangerous area.

When night fell, the streets teemed with prostitutes, drug addicts, and crimes like extortion, brawls, rape, and murder became commonplace. Sirens blared incessantly, filling the sleepless city until the break of dawn.

Particularly on full moon nights, crime rates spiked.

But there was something more to Eastschist, a hidden truth unknown to most humans: amid the city's melting pot of races, creatures other than human lived in their midst.

"Watch where you're going, you idiot!"

Ange Blanc walked the dangerous nighttime streets with a timid and nervous demeanor, head down, and accidentally bumped into a towering, rough-looking man.

"…Ah… I'm sorry."

Ange hurriedly looked up, causing the man to momentarily fall silent.

—When he was looking down, I didn't notice, but this one… is a real catch.…

The man's eyes ran blatantly over Ange's body, appraising him.

Though thin and shabbily dressed, Ange's pale blue eyes peeked out from beneath his slightly overgrown bangs. His hair, though disheveled and grimy, was unmistakably platinum blonde. The shirt he wore had its top three buttons undone, revealing hints of porcelain-white skin, which, unlike the overtly exposed prostitutes, exuded a subtle, even more sensual allure. The man involuntarily gulped, swallowing hard.

As Ange muttered his apology and turned to walk away, the man grabbed his slender wrist with a strong grip, preventing his escape.

"Hold on. You bump into someone and think that's it?"

"I* said sorry, didn't I?"

"Didn't anyone teach you to use polite language with your elders?"

[T/N: In the Japanese language, the use of respectful or honorific language (keigo) is crucial when addressing someone older or in a position of authority. Ange's casual phrasing, such as using "オレ" (ore) to refer to himself, is informal and can come off as disrespectful, especially to someone perceived as an elder.]

The man yanked Ange's wrist, pulling him closer.

"You… you're an Omega, aren't you?"

As if to confirm the faint scent drifting from Ange, the man brought his nose to Ange's neck, sniffing like a dog.
